Awareness and Acceptance | Times Square Campaign

We are celebrating the potential of adults with autism and the extraordinary contributions of their parents with donated space on a billboard in Times Square during April, Autism Awareness Month. The campaign draws attention to loving parents and their adult children with autism who face a very uncertain, and often isolated future. Parents across the country face the daily nightmare of not knowing what will happen to their child when they are gone. They are asking, Where will my child live? How will he or she be cared for? Who will pay?

Dr Gregory Prince: Commencement Speech Commentary

Dr. Gregory A. Prince, co-founder of Madison House Autism Foundation, spoke to the Rockville High School class of 2012 in Montgomery County. His youngest son Madison, who is on the autism spectrum, is part of the class of 2012. At 22 years old, Madison’s high school experience comes to an end this year and like hundreds of thousands of others who age out of school programs when they reach adulthood, he faces a very different future than most of the class. “Autistic. Artistic. A Life Ahead.,” a multimedia art exhibit on display at Johns Hopkins University’s Montgomery County campus through June 1 features the work of 32 adults with autism.

Co-sponsored by the Madison House Autism Foundation and Johns Hopkins, the exhibit seeks to raise awareness about autism while providing artists with an opportunity to showcase their talent.Read More…
